Larry is truly amazing to work with. When I started buying gold and silver, I knew nothing about how to do it..............he educated me all along the way. I worked with him and bought gold and silver for months upon months until I achieved my goal. Now, occasionally, I sell gold and silver and would not use anyone else besides Larry, as I feel that he has my best interests at heart. You can call him and he will help you a ton over the phone, but believe me, it's worth the trip to go see him in person.........he is the man!

Larry Jackson's place is one of the most unique businesses I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Larry has probably forgotten more about coins than the average person will ever learn in the numismatic industry.

Larry is great to work with and extremely knowledgeable on all things silver, gold, platinum, rare coins, etc. I have personally purchased coins from Larry multiple times and he has been a pleasure to work with, accommodating on timing, and exchanging items. I recommend anywhere deal with Larry as he is fair and honest.

I first came across Mr. Jackson several months ago while looking to sell a large collection of coins from my sisters estate sell. At the time I knew very little about coin collecting and after reading multiple reviews I came too his shop. Larry "Mr Jackson" is a very busy man so I set up a appointment with him to go over my collection. I found him to be very knowledgeable about coins and willing to share his knowledge with you. He doesn't beat around the bush when it comes too the value of what you have. He offered me a fair price of which I checked with other buyers who offered me far less and I felt like he is very honest and fair. Since then I have sold over $20,000 of merchandise to him and would not go anywhere else when it comes to buying or selling gold or silver. Some people may find his questions over the phone to be a little strange but this is to ascertain what services he can help you with. Trust me when I say, it is well worth the visit to his shop so set up an appointment today, you won't regret it.

This review documents a professional concern regarding evaluation practices and customer handling. I contacted Larry Jackson Rare Coins twice by phone on the same day prior to visiting β€” once to inquire and once to confirm I was en route. During those calls, I clearly described the items I intended to sell, including fine silver bullion featuring the Walking Liberty perched eagle design and others. I was told these were items he buys and that he would review them. I traveled approximately 90 minutes to the shop. Upon arrival, I presented the coins still in original packaging. Without conducting testing, verification, or meaningful inspection, I was immediately told the Walking Liberty coin was β€œfake.” A second .999 fine silver coin purchased from Money Metals Exchange, still sealed in their original packaging, was dismissed as something he β€œdoesn’t buy.” A gold bar I had not requested to sell was also summarily rejected. There was no authentication process, no explanation, and no attempt to verify metal content or provenance. The following day, I took the same items to another dealer and sold them without issue. For context, I am a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) with formal training as an Applied Jewelry Professional. Industry-standard practice when assessing bullion involves basic verification or, at minimum, a transparent explanation when declining to buy. Declaring sealed, reputable-market bullion β€œfake” without examination does not align with accepted professional standards. Dealers are free to decline business. However, confirming items by phone, encouraging a visit, and then dismissing them without inspection reflects poorly on professionalism and respect for customers’ time. Prospective customers may wish to confirm expectations very carefully before making the trip.
