NGCโ€™s stated policy when returning coins for correction is for the sender to write โ€œMEโ€ on all sides of the box, which I did. ME stands for โ€œMechanical Errorโ€. This allegedly moves in a faster pipeline than other coins submitted for grading and the like. This correction is done at no charge to the consumer. Several other coins were submitted for grading around this same time, and these show status as moving through NGCโ€™s system; however, the submission number 2164270 appears to be sitting somewhere on premises with no movement when all that it needs is a label correction. I have called several times and have only been told that said coin โ€œhas been receivedโ€. I asked for a call back from someone in management who had more visibility into what the status was, and no one has called from NGC. I have emailed several times, with no reply as of the time of this writing. NGC could fix most of this if they would give their customers a bit more visibility into where the customers' submitted coins are in the process/pipeline. And empower their employees by allowing them to see more information to answer questions when customers call in. Seems like some employees want to assist, but they can't see information either.

I have been an avid coin collector for over two decades. I recently sent two rare coins in to get graded only to receive any empty box in return. I immediately called customer support and was told they had a pattern of coins getting lost or stolen during return shipping. Supposedly they had a team working on it to figure out how to address the pattern of lost or stolen coins. Now they tell me this is a rare situation and are trying to low ball me on insurance payout to replace my coins. Feels like they are trying to cover up a broader issue since their business model is based on integrity, quality and trust. A coin grading company that has a hard time returning your coins after grading is a concern for me. Very disappointed with my experience and will never use their services again. Customer service has been similar to other negative reviews. Time to give PCGS a try!!

The new graders here are absolute garbage, Iโ€™ve used NGC for years and they keep sending back coins that are not even what they graded. Just got back a clearly proof Indian cent and proof trade dollar that they didnโ€™t even mark proof this is costing people thousands of lost dollars. Their โ€œopinionโ€ does NOT carry the same weight anymore and serious collectors have taken note. Their customer service is trash and they will tell you we can resubmit but why? Just for them to wait 2months and give me the same incorrect grade. They have hired people that literally do not know what they are doing this is clear evidence of that. Iโ€™m beyond pissed off

Have had several lots of coins graded at NGC and every time have been extremely satisfied with their service. I submit, most of the poor reviews on here are by disappointed noob enthusiast wishing for treasure in their mediocre coins.

My coin was given a grade of Brilliant Uncirculated by NGC (which means it is a problem free coin better. 60-70 on the Sheldon scale) I told them I wanted a numeric grade not an adjective grade. Which according to their site and their on site rep would be between MS60-70. So based on this information I gave them my coin to evaluate for a numeric grade. Now they are saying it is cleaned details which destroys the value and reholdered it as such. They are refusing to offer any sort of resolution or to admit any fault. Stick with PCGS or CAC. The customer service with NGC is abysmal and getting worse every year.
