Clean shop. Very helpful cashier at the gift shop. The tour was full so we did not get to do that.

This place is so worth visiting even if you have to go here early in the morning to secure tickets. You have to go through security here because this is a government building but its so cool and worth it.The tour is a must here too.

Tour tickets are NOT walkup. They are done online. They will turn you away without reservations.

A piece of history and an awesome piece at that. It's where coins are made, one of two of the biggest US mints. They offer a free behind-the-scenes tour which is something special for coin collectors and history aficionados. The gift shop sells annual coin sets, freshly minted collectibles, everything from their website all in one spot. if you're into coins, this is someplace you can't miss.

I visited in winter. Check schedule as it varies by demand and holidays. It is closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Mondays do get more of the weekend visitors. But since it was December, even though half the visitors on my tour were on flights that afternoon, still only 29 of the 50 spots were filled for the 730 am tour. I did not have to get there at 630 am I guess but I did avoid rush hour traffic. Your ticket is free. You can get up to 5 tickets. Private Parking at paid lots on 13th just 2 blocks away, but still not a large lot. $15. First you go thru security, no bags or purses at all. First half hour is viewing exhibits, and rest rooms. Then a series of viewing rooms. The Denver mint makes coins, not prints bills. I would not recommend under age 12 as it is not that dynamic. Took about an hour. Then there is a gift shop. If you are interested it is worth it, if you are not, you will find it boring, it's not Disney entertainment.

The Denver Mint tour should be one of the local attractions you visit that is not the be-all end all of your day. I took both my kids earlier in the day, before going to Denver Aquarium and out to lunch. Please get there early. The doors open at 7am but if you have 150 people in front of you, you won't get in. It is the history of money, the tour guides are very friendly and helpful, and the gift shop is great. The tours are relatively short, however I looked at it as an opportunity to get some education and history as part of a fun day with my kids. There is no parking lot, but there is affordable parking near by.

I really enjoyed the free tour. Tour tickets need to be picked up in advance on the same day. They have multiple tours during the day and if you are lucky you can get the ticket before the tour. The tour includes the history of the mint, the minting of coins and a penny souvenir. Bags of any kind are not allowed, there are no lockers to store your belongings, cell phones need to be turned off and you have to go through security check.

Took the tour on the final day that the penny was printed. Would have enjoyed seeing the machines in action but it was a 3p tour and coin stamping appeared to be done for the day. Informative tour and a good learning experience.
