I recently went to Haus of CuCu to get my Kemo Sabe hat reshaped and was pleasantly surprised by the personal and thorough service provided by the owner. The quality of work done on my hat was amazing and I can finally wear it again! I am extremely satisfied with my experience and highly recommend!

Went to Haus of Cucu to pick out my birthday present. Got the most unique and beautiful turquoise ring. The customer service was phenomenal. Margot is so very talented and has such an eye for unique pieces of clothing and jewelry. Thank you!

Unfortunate that "Local Business" Doesn't respect local business. In June of 2024 I went into Hus of cucu to inquire about getting a set of saddled bags for a motorcycle repaired as they had shrunk from years of sun damage. After multiple visits I was able to talk with Margot and was asked to wait to bring them in so that she could finish another order that was due. I said this would not be a problem and would come buy in the first week of July. On the Monday of the 8th I drop my bags with Margot and was given an expected due date of two weeks, and a quote of 200 dollars. I was not given any form on receipt for my property or quote for the work, I was told to write my name and number on a red tag and leave it in a pile. On July 23, 2024 i sent Margot a text to check in and see what progress had been made and when I could expect my bags back. this would go unanswered. After multiple attempts in person I was able to find Margot at her shop And was told that the original plane was unsuccessful and that she would be able to try something else and have them back to me in a few weeks On October 1 I received a text that I should be able to pick the bags up on that Friday. ON that Friday I got another text that she had to postpone until the next Monday ( this would become a pattern) BY the 19Th of October I still was unable to get a meeting with her after several attempts to find her at her shop. on the 20th i was assured that she would be around and again was postponed By 25 a meeting was set and i was told at that time that she was still unable to preform the repair she suggested. I had originally wanted the entire top replaced with new leather and this would become the new plan of action. At this point I should have left and found a real leather worker that cares about their customers and reputation. MY common sense scramming in the background i agreed to give Margot another shot. As motorcycle season was behind us i was willing to be patient. Over the winter I made several stops into Hus of CuCu and was only able to find Margot there twice. on both occasions I was told that they are so close and it would just be a few more days. On March 19 of 2025 i sent Marot a text asking if my bags would be ready with no response. On March 31 I sent another text to witch she responded that she was moving and wouldn't have time. Unanswered text were sent on APR 9,14 and May 1. Attempts were also made in person to find Margot at her shop and were unsuccessful. This whole situation came to a head after months of postponement and flat out being ignored, I began calling the shop phone and speaking with her employee in hopes that they would have better luck getting in touch with Margot. In my best impression of a squeaky wheel I place a call once a week. ON Monday June 2nd I placed a call to Hus of CuCu and was answered By Margot's employee. This was not our first conversation and she was a wear of the reason for my call. She told me that she would call Margot and call me back. to which I responded by telling her that this was the same answer that I had been given multiple times and that I would be involving the police if I was unable to get in contact with Margot. Not an hour later I received a text form Margot that read "Calling to Threaten my female employee will not get you ANYWHERE" I am taking care of a sick family member. And just so you recall, you have not even paid me for the work preformed yet. I took this project on as a courtesy as I don't even normally do this type of work anymore. If you ant to get a law involved I will happily do the same. ECT" After this I called Dispatch. ON Friday June 6th i was accompanied by an officer to Hus of CU CU where Marot was still working on my bags and had to wait another 15 minutes after I arrived to get my property back. After inspection I found that Not only was the repair not done professionally With a full replacement of the top but gaps were left in the corners and stiches are already coming undone. Not only was my time and money wasted, but also my trust.

Margot and her team are absolutely spectacular (shout out Jacci & Barbara!). If you're looking for Western, Boho Southwestern, Rancher Chic Gear, or the Vintage Wild West, look no further than CuCu Leather. Margot has *everything*. From amazing hats β€” that you can wear off the shelf or have personalized (and STELLAR hat bands) β€” to fantastic custom made leather pieces and repair (boots, belts, chaps, jackets, bags, and more)... she's got it all. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY she'll even make you CUSTOM boots (yes, that's right, custom... measured to your feet and designed with you along the way). CuCu also has amazing sterling silver pieces (I bought a scarf slide that I love that was made by Double D Ranch / Peyote Bird). I also got a gorgeous silk scarf, pin, stickers, and a few other goodies. Seriously a great gift shop for Colorado and Steamboat Springs based items, too! Can't wait to come back.

I realize a β€œreasonable amount of time” can be a gray area, however after contacting Haus of CuCu twice, they have not been responsive to the issue I experienced in any manner to either make it right or offer a reasonable resolution. I wrote them via the contact form directly on the website on 06/02/24 and followed up with a phone call on 06/20/24 at which time I spoke with Nathan and explained the issue. He said he would give the message to the owner Margot, however over a month later the company has still not reached out to me in any manner. Given that statement, I am very disappointed and would caution any prospective customers (especially vacationers) to think more than twice when looking to purchase a vintage piece. Although beautiful, they can be very fragile, as was the case with the piece my daughter purchased for me...I didn't even get to wear it before it cracked. For context, here is the original message I sent to Haus of CuCu on June 2nd, 2024. "Hello, my daughter visited your store in January during her vacation. She had purchased 2 bracelets, one for my sister's birthday in February (a leather one with a concho and magnetic closure, and to my absolute surprise, another one for me, which she gave me just last week for my birthday on May 27th. I love that the bracelet is vintage (silver with 2 turquoise stones, marked BT). When I took it out of the box last night to wear, I noticed again how the bangle portion itself is very well-worn and shaped to whoever's wrist had worn it many moons ago. It is also extremely fragile as the silver is cracked on a section of the bangle. I honestly don't recall noticing the crack when she gave it to me last week, but maybe I just missed it since it's right at the edge of one of the silver rounds that holds a stone or maybe it just split from age. I'm so disheartened about the whole situation because I didn't even get a chance to wear it. I have no idea if there are any options for this type of situation which is why I am contacting you. My guess is that my daughter likely spent more than just a few dollars on the gift and I'm not at all looking forward to telling her that it's cracked. At any rate, I would appreciate any consideration you may be able to extend. I've taken some pictures that I can send. Just let me know at your convenience if there are any options available to resolve the situation." It's not my intention to bash anyone with this poor review. I just would have appreciated more professionalism, rather than the issue being totally ignored. I feel upset that I have no other option but to leave a poor review at this point. I've never been in the store, but it looks as-if it has a wonderful collection of items that I would love. But sadly, I could never recommend, or shop here based solely on this initial experience. I feel the worst for my daughter who spent all that money for a special gift for me, and now it's just something that is broken and will remain in the box instead of being able to show it off and enjoy it. Thank you for your time.

DO NOT SEND BOOTS HERE FOR REPAIR. If I could give 0/5 stars I would. I dropped mine off in December and they told me 4 to 6 weeks for them to be fixed. It is now July and I only just picked them up because I called and told them that I was coming in to pick them up regardless of if they were done or not. Customer service was awful, I called multiple times looking for an update and never received a single call back in the seven months that they had them. Upon receiving them, it was obvious that this job was done the two days before I picked them up, they still smelled strongly of glue and the repair job is uneaven and done with little care. Some nails are sticking out, the sole is already peeling off and the heel blocks are ill-aligned. These photos are post repair, they look WAY WORSE than when I originally dropped them off. 0/10
