I highly recommend Wilshire Coin if you have jewelry that you’d like to sell. I’ve been dealing with Tom for 3 years, and it’s always a pleasure. He’s honest, fair, explains his offers clearly, and on top of that is patient and kind. You can’t beat those qualities when selling your valuables.

Daniel… what can I say? The man is great at what he does. His expertise in this field is second to none. The whole team over at Wilshire Coin is outstanding but I was fortunate enough to have worked with Dan’ on what I had today. I’m new to this whole world of selling and buying precious metals so I had a ton of questions. Daniel really took a NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION! approach and made our transaction smooth and pleasant. I’d actually love to come in to their location just to talk and ask a ton of questions. These guys are a fountain of knowledge with good attitudes that seem to have a great passion for this lane. I left Wilshire Coin with kind of a hunger to know more about this world since Daniel and those guys were so nice and welcoming. Can’t wait to stop by again. Thanks, fellas!!

This place was great. Have all you need when it comes to gold and silver and much more. Was helped by Jake (I hope I got that right) who was very helpful and patient with all my questions. He even gave me an extra silver coin at the end! I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend anyone looking to buy or sell any precious metals to go here before trying anywhere else!

I recently visited Wilshire Coin to sell 20.8g of 14k gold. While the staff, specifically Daniel, was very kind and even invited me back in to discuss a discrepancy, I was ultimately disappointed in the business's calculation methods and the resolution offered. My receipt shows 20.8g at an 85% payout, but I was only given $1,400. When I went back to question this, Daniel wrote "55% at 85% at $4,467/oz" on the back of my receipt to explain the math. He explained that they use 55% as a shortcut to account for solder and because they don't have time to melt and test. However, 14k gold is legally and scientifically 58.3% pure. Even with the standard allowance for solder, 14k should not be calculated as low as 55%. Most professional shops use modern equipment like X-ray (XRF) scanners that provide accurate purity readings within seconds, so a "shortcut" shouldn't result in a lower payout for the customer. By using this "55% rule" instead of the industry standard at a spot price of $4,467, the payout was $81 short of the 85% rate promised on the front of my receipt. After my visit, I called other local shops and was quoted $1,500 and $1,550 for the same gold. I called Daniel back to let him know what the other companies offered. He told me I should consider going to them next time:( I’m sharing this so others know to verify the purity percentages used in the calculation before finalizing a sale.

Called in advance to ask some general questions. Direct quote from their staff “there is no one for you to talk to here”. Asked to speak with a manager, was told the same thing. [edited for context: was looking to sell, wanted a rough estimate, I explained I have a newborn so I have to set up special care to come in and wanted to understand if it would even be relevant. I asked for a call back and was refused, asked for the manger was refused.] [edited for response to the "owner": yeah sounds like people should avoid this store for any semblance of service. They clearly do not care]
