Excellent service and trustworthy business. My go to spot for buying and selling precious metals.

Rude and Kurt for no reason. If you want to be treated poorly this is the place to go to to try and sell your gold or silver. To top it off even though I was there early in the day he was out of cash. Instead he paid me in a post-dated check. I noticed him doing this with the people before me and post dating some of the checks as far as 5 days out. After my experience with this individual I went to the other coin store on 41st. I was treated with respect and politeness. I will never come back to the shop again.

Here you will find a Honest man. 3 years ago he sold my friend a gold maple leaf at spot price. 3 years later he bought that same coin at spot price, with a smile and a wink. I am bringing my silver coins to make extra cash. I compared his buying price to other coin shops in the bay area, and find I can get the most cash from my coins with this business. With the price of precious metals going up I can count on this shop giving me the best deal. Conversely if I am prepared to buy gold or silver; this is my go to place.

I've conducted business here a few times, often selling silver coins. The owner has always been curt and short tempered but I tried to be understanding and considerate knowing he probably deals with scammers. Most recently, I went in with several silver coins that he barely glanced at before saying they were worth face value and acted like I was an idiot. I didn't have a chance to encourage further examination before he was shouting for the next customer. 2 stars because I appreciate the business I was able to conduct, however, I will not be returning again.

This is the greatest place. Best and fair price when you sell, period. If you are looking to buy, there is a great selection of jewelry also very well priced. So it is worth a look for great pieces, vintage classic chains, charms and lots of cool and unique rings. It is a very safe environment, one on one. The owner is very patient and will explain things and values to you as well.

UPDATE: SO DISAPPOINTED I thought for sure this was going to be a great experience. unfortunately this visit was a bust. The gentleman was a very nice and courteous individual and I can’t say his customer service was poor. However for a location that claims on their website to have “top of the line government equipment”, they should be able to do a simple metal composition test. As I stated in my OP, I refine silver. I do this with a process called cupellation (involved process I won’t explain here). Which means I know what goes into this…when I brought them in , he took my buttons to his “machine” somewhere out of sight in the back (right past the machine they use to test metals) and comes backs a few seconds later and; I kid you not, he says to me, straight face, “yea I don’t know what these are I’m not picking up anything, but my opinion, these are nothing…maybe pewter but yea”. So you can imagine what my immediate first thoughts were. I made sure to bring in a total of 5 buttons in various stages of completeness. one was pure .999 silver. So either his machines are off, not calibrated regularly as he says they are, and grossly under measure, or he didn’t actually test them (which I I know this is basically what happened), looked at me (I didn’t make any particular attempt at getting dressed presentable and was bumming it that day to be honest, and cupelling silver is an EXTREMELY dirty job so you can imagine how I looked) and pretty much didn’t give me the time of day stating to me some more false information that I had to send it into “a special” place that tests this “professionally”….oh, I’m sorry sir, I could of sworn that’s where I was, with the laundry list of qualifications and certifications on your website. And don’t judge a book by its cover, you never know if your next customer is an owner and operator of a local small business, Was a brand ambassador through the Scott’s valley chamber of commerce, live stream social media influencer, and refines there own precious metals who will do a review on your business on all their platforms. The sad part is, I don’t want this review to lose business for this place and think this can and will end up being a great learning experience for them so if you’ve made it to the end don’t let this discourage you, I recommend stilll giving this business a shot. Oh yes and I hope whoever reads this will make sure to update your website and offer a bit more transparency through it. I’m a busy woman and it wouldn’t have saved me a bunch of time. Heading in today for the first time. After seeing the reviews I’m feeling OP: optimistic. I refine my own silver and love to take it into different places and see what they have to say. I’ll be back for further review! :)
