The owner has hundreds - probably thousands - of snail mail stamps available AT COST. It's a great place to go if you're looking for unique postage to use for friends' gifts or etsy orders 😊 The store hours can be sporadic - he posts them on the door - so make sure to call ahead before making the trip!

EDITED: I initially left one star WITHOUT a review to see what commentary the owner would write. His responses to comments are defensive and tone-deaf. I didn't write a review at first because I was curious what self-aggrandizing excuse the owner would come up with. As you can see, he claimed I am homeless and then wrote his own review. Read on... Dozens of patrons have posted publicly that this man is unpleasant to deal with and treats people as though they are inconveniences, rather than customers or even potential customers. Sir, if you have a storefront, you may occasionally have people come into your store not knowing what they're interested in or without an appointment. I would suggest reading your reviews and making some changes based on the feedback you receive. This mans store is a mess, his display case is empty, the things he sells are terrible, cleaned, or otherwise bad purchase, which he attempts to sell to uninformed buyers at ridiculous prices. I visited his storefront once a few months ago, and I won't be back. He is right that I am not a customer as I would never buy or sell to this person. I am a local guide with relationships with many local businesses. This is not one of them. Buy and sell elsewhere.

After knocking hard in the old door the elderly man that answered was none helpful rude and obviously didnt care about my knowledge on vintage stamps and only cared about what he thought he knew. I went to another shop and sold the same stamps he claimed worthless for $23,500.00 again he did not know what i had because he didnt even take the time to look. I would rather sit through the worst colleges lecture than send anyone to that joke of a shop

A pretty large selection and a cool shop. The older guy working there felt a little hard to work with to me. Maybe I'm being sensitive but I felt mildly unwelcomed. I showed up trying to buy some coins and I felt like I repeated myself fairly well and he just sort of ignored it. At the end, after a few coins, when I decided I should go. He did remind me I could just let him know when I was ready to make a transaction. I feel like it's a hearing problem not ignoring. But I was hoping to shop a little. I would strongly recommend it if you know what you want and aren't looking to shop around or chat a bunch. I would go back if I knew exactly what I wanted and wasn't trying to impromptu shop. Prices were good and there's a lot of diversity in options

Called to make an appointment to sell stamps and gold. The owner told me he was closing the doors,he didn't want to talk about stamps before I even finished my first sentence and hung up on me before I could even mention the gold I wanted to sell. Mr. Scrooge doesn't deserve my business. He has the personality and customer service of a wet dishrag. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. I recommend US Stamp Company for stamps and Gold. Located in Emeryville. Super nice people and easy to work with.
