Been coming into Castro Valley Coin for years, and Greg and Apollo have been consistently solid every single time. I’ve done some pretty significant precious metals buying and selling with them, and I’ve always felt like I was getting straight answers, fair numbers, and a clean, no-pressure process. They also helped me with something way outside the usual coin shop transaction: selling my grandfather’s Babe Ruth autograph. They kept it secure for me, coordinated getting it sent out to an authentication service back east, and once it was confirmed legitimate, they worked with the authenticator and helped get it sold on eBay. The whole chain of custody was handled carefully, communication was clear, and the fee was more than reasonable for how much they took on. I attached a photo of the Babe Ruth autograph with this review. If you want a place you can trust with both metals and higher-stakes items, this is it.

I have been a customer of Castro Valley Coin for over two years. It didn’t take me long to realize that Appolo and Greg are both stand up guys that I have been able to trust to give me good information and point me to the best value. I have learned a lot from them both and know I can ask them questions and get a straight forward answers. I live out in the valley where there are multiple coin shops but I stick with Castro Valley coin. The bottom line is that I trust them and believe they have always made sure to treat me fair. I wouldn’t ask for more.

Their website link doesn't work and they never seem to answer their phone. How am I supposed to ask basic questions about their service. They are close to where I live, but I have already wasted enough time with trying to chase them down to give them my business. Do they provide PCGS certification services or not? Honestly guys, this is 2026. Please get your business in better order for your own sake.

I’ve been coming here for a few years. These guys are great! Always friendly. And there Premiums are also so low; Even today with the spot price of silver being in the low 90s, They only charged me 3 dollars over spot. It’s really hard finding another place that can meet that price. The guys will take care of you if you’re a loyal or a first time customer. You do have to pay in cash though.. Highly recommend! These are the only two guys I really trust when it comes to evaluating precious metal and being honest with me.
