They bought 16 items and I got $85 in cash which was a lot more than I was expecting. Store was clean staff was friendly and helpful. Large selection of clothing shoes and more for men & women. Almost every item for sale was in excellent condition lots of stuff was new still with original tags. While I was looking around waiting for my stuff to be appraised I came across this unique dress it had a pattern on it but I couldn’t tell what it was supposed to be. I stared at the dress trying to figure it out and finally I asked a gal who worked there if she knew what it might be. She was puzzled as well. She went the extra mile and gave great customer service by offering to take a picture on Google to see if we could find out what the pattern was supposed to be. Turns out it’s a Dr.Who themed dress from Hot Topic. I’m definitely going back to uptown cheapskate and I highly recommend you check them for high end brands in the latest styles for Thrift store prices.

This was the BEST experience Ive had selling items to such an establishment. In the past and at other places, I felt I received very lowball offers and a cold customer service but at Uptown Cheapskate the entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and I felt involved in the process itself! The pricing they offered for my items felt accurate and honest, and the prices of the items they have in the store itself also felt incredibly reasonable, more so than Goodwill if I’m honest! Great selection and even greater staff!!!!

Just an FYI: if you’re looking to sell higher quality items I’d go elsewhere. I came to sell higher end, quality, barely worn items ($300 + boots/shoes, silk pants, linen dresses, 100 percent wool sweaters, several pairs of jeans from Saks) and was declined to even buy one item which is just fine. I was looking around the store and could see most of the clothes seemed Goodwill quality, not clean. (Though I didn’t say that) Seemed they’d welcome higher quality so I was just curious and politely asked what they may be looking for. Since I’d just cleaned my entire closet out; I had a few bags of clothing I was going to drop off at goodwill but was thinking maybe those are the type of clothes they actually WOULD want. So it was just a question. The guy said “Like..anything you bought at the actual mall. You know..in the last year or two. Something up to date..” in a super snotty angry sarcastic way. Got it. They are looking for cheaper fast fashion. He seemed angry at me that he didn’t like my clothes but people bringing in clothing are what keeps the store in stock so the crappy attitude because someone brought something in that wasn’t his style seemed over the the top. So for that reason I can only give 3 stars for my experience. If you have higher quality items I’d go to My Sisters Closet which is where I went next. They bought almost my entire bag. Happily. I don’t expect the 22 year old hipster working the counter to have any real experience or be able to identify $220 jeans (bought 6 months ago) from a Saks 5th Ave but truly didn’t have to have a poor attitude or try to embarrass me for simply asking a question.

I came in to get rid of some clothes that I have been driving around with for 3 months. Every associate was welcoming and helpful. They looked like they enjoy working there (except the guy) I will definitely return there when I want to sell my items. I picked up a cute pair of pants too.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING AND THE STAFF IS EVEN BETTER! I have been buying and selling here for a few years and I never have a bad experience. I love the pieces I find here more than any other place I frequent. (The picture is my most recent find, a leather Madewell bag I got for the low low price of FREE99 because I used trade credits🤑)
