First, they asked me if I had a pistol permit when I first gave them my ID. Being a business owner who has multiple properties and owns multiple cars that has different tag registrations and different addresses obviously made me to be considered a criminal who cannot purchase a gun at certain places. I literally just got a refund and went back to Academy and purchased a new gun without any issues. I really believe it was because on my driver license I look like a mean angry black man and they felt like I must have a criminal history because of it. I guess when I get a new driver license i need to smile. I literally work in Human Resources for a large pharmaceutical company that probably most of the people that work here probably go into daily, but being a black man must mean I have some sort of criminal history. I want ever in life step foot in here again.i do. Or like how i was treated from a customer service perspective. I have trained people for years on customer service and theirs is horrible. I supposed being a black man in a t shirt and shorts makes it worst too. When I first came in to put a gun on layaway I was dressed in nice pants and a dress shirt. I forgot as a black mane you have to dress nice to be treated good. I was too busy this morning to change and forgot.
Ive owned a roofing business for over 50 years and know how important it is to treat people right. This place does just that. Every time I’ve come in, they’ve been fair, honest, and even asked about how my day is. Good people, good deals, and a place you can actually trust I’d recommend them to anyone.
